Boxing Day

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a wonderful and merry Christmas with your families, friends and loved ones! We had a lovely day starting with a yummy cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast (cooked by me) and as much as we both enjoyed it there is no way we could eat that sort of breakfast too often - special days are often enough for us :) After that, the two of us opened our presents from each other and we were both spoilt. My gifts included a lingere voucher, an electric toothbrush, a couple of CD's and some other bits and pieces. Steph's gifts included a new fancy fan dangle drill he wanted, tshirts, DVD's and a couple of other bits and pieces. After we had done that and spent some time thinking of our two angels that we have lost this year - oh by the way Kate, in regards to your wee comment on my last post - yes we had bought two lovely angel teddy bear glass ornaments that are sitting beside the christmas tree - one for each of our angels :) I think that is a great idea and a lot of the ladies from the Miscarriage Forum were doing that as well.

So after that, we headed to Steph's parents, got more presents, had a scrumptious but light lunch and spent some quality time with the kids! Oh I do love being with kids on Christmas Day!!! About 3.00pm we left there and popped in to Jude's to exchange presents with her and then hit the road to Masterton. Got there, and after catching up with the family, it was time for more presents and a light tea. Spent most of the evening just blobbing out, talking and playing silly buggers as there were no young kids there just big kids very young at heart! LOL

This morning I woke, and got up threw on my walking clothes and hit the streets of Masterton! Boy it was fantastic having a change of scenery and I was so proud of myself for not getting lost but I had taken my cellphone with me just in case! LOL Did a 45 min walk and estimate that it would have been between 4.5 & 5 kms that I did - couldn't quite measure it with the car as I did a few alley ways between streets! But as I normally do 5km in about 43 mins I am guessing that is about what I covered this morning. But boy by the time I got back about 9am the sun sure had some heat in it! So back to my sisters, showered, breakfast and then myself, my sister and my mum took off to the town centre as I wanted to check out the Millers store in Masterton as I had heard so much about it and boy I could have spent hours in there!!! LOL It is the biggest Millers store in NZ the assistant told me!!! I ended up getting 5 pieces of clothing for only $33!!! 4 tops for me and a pair of shorts for Steph. Yeap Millers in Masterton and Wanganui also sell menswear and children's wear as well and boy they had some brilliant deals happening through out the shop!!! If it hadn't been for my mum and my sister I would have probably spent a lot more time there and a lot more money too! It was only because mum was getting tired that I pulled myself away from there! LOL We were going to do Farmers as well but I got talked out of doing that! But was pleased with my purchases from Millers.

Home from town, blobbed out for a while before having lunch and then after cleaning up from that we hit the road and came home. My niece hitched a ride with us so dropped her home at her flat in Lower Hutt and then came home and unpacked etc... We have realised that we left the camera and camera bag over in Masterton but as Mum is coming home tomorrow she will drop it off to us on the way home or if we are out when she comes by we will pick it up on Friday as we head up tht way. Steph took some nice photos of me in my new outfit that I got to "reward" myself for reaching the 40 kilo mark last week!

Generally speaking my food has been ok - well at meal times it has been - as we have just been having cold meats and salads but its the nibbling in between on chippies and fudge that have let me down in the last 48hrs or so... so am going to make an effort to make better choices when it comes to snacks. Water has been average too so am ok with that.

But anyway, enough rambling from me - got to go and see if the towels are dry and bring them in. Catch ya all during the week.

Ciao

Sounds like you had a great day :-) I'm glad! Oh and I thought after I wrote that comment that it probably wasn't actually my idea, but one that I had read about! I think it's a lovely way of remembering that they will always be part of your family.
Hope you continue to enjoy your break :-)
